Century Fence Student Writing Contest

  • Waukesha County middle and high school students can enter their original essay or poem
  • Prizes for 1st place ($250), 2nd place ($175), and 3rd place ($75)
  • Winners are selected by a panel of current and retired educators
  • Details about the Century Fence Writing Contest Winners Awards Celebration will be announced in October

All winners for both the Duane Stein Short Story Contest and the Century Fence Student Writing Contest will be announced at the 2024 Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books Awards Ceremony at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee at Waukesha. The ceremony will take place during a reception on Friday, November 8 at 7 pm.
