The Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books has renamed its Authors Marketplace and Exhibit Area to memorialize support given by Don Taylor who was the primary sponsor of the Writers Marketplace and Exhibit Area since it began in 2014. “We thought this an appropriate recognition for someone who was so important to the success of the Festival,” said Laraine O’Brien, Festival founder. He gave the support in the name of Waukesha State Bank, the financial institution founded by his family which he headed for 25 years. His public service commitment, both personally and through the bank, helped many organizations like the Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books over the years. An author himself, Taylor had written several books of historical fiction set in Waukesha.

In a world of digitized euphoria, the lights shine bright. The future that humans have desired has finally arrived. The year is 2050, and all that shines is gold, except for one man. Named Patrick Shields, the man is a dark spot in such a world. His distaste for technology has become notorious to all who know him. Perhaps, he is just a precursor to what lies ahead. Patrick himself doesn’t know what is coming, but he is going to do whatever it takes to change the future for all of mankind. Even if that includes embracing what he hates.

The second installment of invigorating, poignant poetry is all about people, from all places of the world. It is about relationships and their highs and lows. It is about bars, alcohol and America. It is about dinosaurs (your parents), flowers, garbage, and sunshine. It is about Zenz himself, and above all else, it is about you.

Does this newest poetry collection concern you?  It just might have to. Featuring twenty brand-new poems, Vernacular Whirlwind utillizes  the same formula as Deadly Grievances and improves upon it, leaving readers with their breath taken, and swirled in a twister of art, photography, and poetic delivery.

Deadly Grievances is the conglomerate life story of a young man who is trying to figure life out, as well as who he is and what it means to be a resident of Earth. He’s a bit angry and upset, but he’s working on it, exploring both the depths of Lake Michigan, as well as political issues, relationships, and social normalities.
