American Stories
The Ninth Annual Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books will be held November 2 and 3 on the UWM at Waukesha campus. Organized by the UW-Waukesha Foundation, this year’s annual community celebration of literacy and the arts, themed American Stories, will feature two keynote authors: novelist Liam Callanan and mystery writer Nick Petrie, along with more than 60 other authors.
The American Stories theme also runs through the 2018 Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books Century Fence Middle & High School Student Essay Contest, which is open to all middle school and high school students in Waukesha County. To be eligible for the cash prizes up to $250, students must submit an original essay based on the American Stories theme by the October 1 deadline.
A Writer’s Marketplace is also available for authors and organizations to promote their work for a small fee. Volunteers are needed for the days of the event. We are in the midst of finalizing our program for this fall. Investigate previous Festivals using the History tab above.
