Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books!
Interested in Volunteering?
The Southeast Wisconsin Festival of Books is an annual community celebration of literacy and the arts, where local and national authors and readers of all ages come together to enjoy presentations, performances, creativity and conversation
This is a free community-wide event which is organized by the UWM at Waukesha Foundation. The Festival is held the first weekend in November, unless otherwise noted, at the UWM at Waukesha, 1500 N. University Drive, Waukesha, WI and is seeking volunteers.
Available Volunteer Positions
We have numerous volunteer positions available the weekend of the Festival, ranging from reception / greeters, room volunteers during presentations, photographers, set-up and take-down and other roles. Most volunteer shifts are only 3-4 hour blocks of time. New volunteers are asked to attend a short orientation. In addition to volunteer experience, the Festival of Books offers participants an opportunity to meet authors in-person and learn more about the writing process, and see the Waukesha campus up close.
Ideal volunteers include high school students, adults, community groups and anyone interested in learning more about writers and books. The volunteer opportunities are perfect for student groups, including Key Club, FBLA, National Honor Society, Newspaper groups, Scouts, Library groups, Writing Groups and any student or group seeking volunteer hours.
