Annelise Ryan is the pseudonym for the author of the Mattie Winston mystery series: WORKING STIFF (2009), SCARED STIFF (2010), FROZEN STIFF (2011), LUCKY STIFF (2012), and BORED STIFF (2013). She also had three suspense novels published by HarperCollins in the nineties under her real name (Beth Amos) and has a contract for three books in a new mystery series to be published under the pseudonym Allyson K. Abbott, featuring a Milwaukee based bartender named Mackenzie Dalton, the first of which is tentatively titled MURDER ON THE ROCKS. She has written more than 200 published articles, worked as a book reviewer for Barnes & Noble, and is an active member of Mystery Writers of America and International Thriller Writers. She is an RN whose past work experience has included everything from birth (obstetrics) to death (hospice). She currently works in an ER and enjoys a number of side hobbies, including competitive Scrabble, stained glass, and scuba diving.
